( Exo. 20:4-5; Ps 22:3).

Worship is the last spiritual discipline in the series. The spiritual disciplines are twelve(12) according to Richard Foster’s view.

▪︎ Worship is for disciplined Christians and it is an importan part of Christianity. When we worship in our prayers, songs, service, and giving we are expressing our thankfulness and awe to the Lord.

▪︎ Worship involves a spiritual intimacy that sets all bible- believing Christians apart from those who worship other gods. ” Make no other gods before me……..” ( Exo.20:4-5) . “But thou art Holy, O’ thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel”—- Ps. 22:3.

▪︎ God alone is to be worshipped.

▪︎ His supreme need is worship.. Exo. 20:5.

▪︎ He is jealous about that ( Exo. 34:14).

▪︎ Lucifer was the first to be appointed worship leader in Heaven– (Ezk. 28:13-14).

▪︎ He became envious, I believe, and also desired to be worshipped. He fell from this grace ( Isa. 14:12-14)

▪︎ God later, put worship, involving musical instruments and singing into the children men.

▪︎ First into Jubal, a grandson of Cain. ( Gen. 4: 21)

▪︎ Later, the first worship leader among the Jews was an elderly woman, Miriam (Exo. 15:20-21)

▪︎King David appointed worship leaders (1Chro. 16:37; 18:17).

▪︎ Our worship and praises draw God into our lives (Psalm 22:3)

▪︎ Eight (8) Great Bible verses on worship:
1) Worship with our offerings–(1Chro.16:29)

2) Worship with our musical instruments (2 Chro.29:28)

3) Worship with our physical posture (Ps. 95:6)

4) Worship in our songs (Psalm 100:2)

5) Worship in spirit and in truth ( John. 4:24)

6) Worsip with out life (Rom. 12:1)

7) Worship with reverence and awe (Heb. 12 :28)

8) Worship only God

▪︎ The English word “worship” comes from an old word ” worthsip”

▪︎ Worthship means honour shown to an object

▪︎ It is to proclaim and give worth to something you consider precious and supremely valuable.

▪︎ It is, again, reverence offered to a divine being or a supernatural power.

▪︎ To Christians this “worthiness”is to God. He is worthy of our worship Every Christian is a worshipper. But our worship should be a lifestyle in both public and private places. In Church we can appoint worship leaders to lead worship and strengthen our spirit .

Worshippers must be holy and present their bodies holy for such a divine use.
