Apostle Dr. Samuel Addai -Kusi was born into the Christ Apostolic Church International on 7th December 1968 to Mr. Samuel Kojo Kusi Addai, an accountant and Madam Mary Owusu a midwife, and a member of (CACI) from her adolescent age. He was baptized by Apostle SAP Sarkwa of blessed memory in 1981 in Sunyani Assembly and also received the Holy Ghost baptism in 1984.
Apostle Dr. Addai-Kusi hails from Akwasiase near Tepa in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He began his elementary school education at Yamfo in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, completing the Middle School form four in 1981 and proceeded to Sunyani Secondary School where he obtained his Ordinary Level Certificate in 1986. He attended Labone Secondary School in Accra where he obtained the Advanced Level Certificate in 1988.
He gained admission into the University of Ghana, Legon, to pursue the Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Sociology and graduated in 1993. After his National Service in Bolgatanga Secondary as a Tutor in French, he joined the ministry of Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) in September 1994 as a Publishing Secretary. In 1995 he received the call to full-time Ministry and entered the CACI Bible Training Institute (BTI) to pursue a diploma in Biblical Studies and was posted as the first Pastor of the Cantonments Assembly in Accra.
In order to enhance his professionalism in the media, he enrolled in the Diploma in Public Relations & Advertising course at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) in Accra from 1999 to 2001. He then pursued the MBA (HR) course at the University Of Ghana Business School and completed in 2005. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Theology and Organizational Governance from the Northwestern Christian University, Florida USA. He has pastored many branches of the church In Ghana such as Cantonments- Accra, Accra New Town, Old Tafo-Kumasi, and Teshie Central – Accra. He briefly pastored the Hackney – London Branch of CACI in the UK.
He is a seasoned preacher of the Gospel, Church Administrator, Teacher, a Missionary par excellence and a prolific church planter, having planted among others, CACI branches in Pretoria – South Africa, Manchester – UK, and was Instrumental in establishing branches in Hackney, London – UK, Agoe, Lome-Togo, N’Djamena – Tchad, and many branches in Côte d’Ivoire. In the CACI ministry, he has served in many capacities such as a Chorister and Youth Management member at Sunyani Assembly and a Deacon/Secretary at Osu Assembly of the Church. As a founding member of Christ Apostolic Students & Associates (CASA), he served as the body’s first Chairman for over a decade.
He has also served as General Deacon, Director of Public Relations and Human Resource at the church’s headquarters and until his election to the high office as Director of Missions and Executive Member of the Church, he served as the Head of Missions to Côte d’Ivoire where he turned around the fortunes of the church registering exponential growth in finance, souls and church planting.
He is the author of the much-acclaimed book “21st Century Evangelism”, a trained manual on soul winning and a thesis on “Strategic Human Ressource Development, a case study of Christ Apostolic Church of Ghana” presented to the University of Ghana Business School in partial fulfillment of his MBA course. He is married to Mrs. Lydia Dora Addai-Kusi and blessed with a son, Samuel Addai- Kusi Junior.
